IWCA Summer Institute

Dear Writing Center Colleagues,

If you or someone you know might be interested in attending the IWCA Summer Institute in July, please read on!  There are still slots left!

This year’s SI  will feature an engaging line-up of topics and leaders for an unforgettable week in a truly magnificent location. The SI is an ideal way to introduce newcomers to the field, or to renew enthusiasm among established professionals. Directors, faculty members, tutors, graduate students – anyone who works in a writing center or tutoring center, or aspires to – will benefit from this year’s SI. When:  July 24 (Sunday) to July 29 (Friday)

Where:  Quartz Mountain Resort in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. Participants will fly into Lawton, Oklahoma or Oklahoma City and carpool from there to the resort.  See: http://www.quartzmountainresort.com/

Who:   This year’s SI is co-chaired by Michele Eodice (IWCA past president) and Ben Rafoth (IUP). In addition to Michele and Ben, there are five leaders:  Nathalie Singh-Corcoran (West Virginia University), Joe Janangelo (Loyola Univ. Chicago), Lisya Seloni (Illinois State), Steve Price (Mississippi College), and Kerri Jordan (Mississippi College).

What:  The SI is five full days of lively discussions, gentle debates, new friendships, and dynamic presentations on tutor development, assessment, research, and diversity.  Plus….. trail walks through 500 million year old granite outcroppings, evenings by the lake, campfires, singing, and relaxation.  Read more about the curriculum, accommodations, and cost at    http://writingcenters.org/links/iwca-summer-institute-2/
